About me and how I got into Hypnotherapy

Introduction.

Clock, Pocket Watch, Gold, Valuable

What is a hypnotherapist? What can I expect?

Do we swing watches at people? Can you be made to do things against your will? All valid questions, and I am sure you can think of many more. I think most people agree that a Hypnotherapist helps you relax. You relax to the point where your subconscious can be asked to change views or perceptions or actions held for a long time. Suggestions can be made, small tweaks that can make a huge difference to the client’s life.

What does it feel like?

In answer to that question, it is different for everyone. Probably the best way to describe it is trancelike.

When you have been absorbed in reading a book, you can find that you have not taken in the last few pages because your mind has been elsewhere.

When you have driven home, only to find you have arrived, but have been making a mental list of jobs to do when you get there. The conscious mind will drive, whilst the unconscious mind makes a list!!

Never underestimate the power of the mind.  I am sure that we don’t use anything like the powers we have available to us. Our brains do not hear the negatives and so we need to train ourselves to speak to ourselves in a positive way!

While we are on the subject of talking to our selves, tell your negative self to SHUT UP!

You are not useless for losing your keys, just a bit forgetful.

You are not rubbish for forgetting that appointment, you just need to be more organised!

Be kinder to yourself!! If all else fails and you are not having a good day, try to make someone else’s! Compliment a friend, or do a favour you have been meaning to do. Each new day is a gift, we must not waste it!

Hypnotherapy can also be used to change ingrained habits, This can help with weight loss, smoking, Anger, Anxiety to name but a few.Hypnotherapy can be used to train the unconscious mind not to be scared of needles, spiders, flying, dogs, the list goes on.

YOU have to want these changes. YOU have to put the work in. There is no a magic wand. But in time, hypnotherapy can be used to ingrain new habits. Hypnotherapy is a great tool with many uses in life generally.
